Hello. Thank you for expressing interest in my school visits. They are my favorite part of creating books for children!

 

My presentation covers the process of making a book. I explain how I find my ideas, I discuss my writing and I show step-by-step examples of how my illustrations are created.

 

I also do a live drawing demo for the students. At the end there is time for Q and A. Throughout my presentation I stress that what I do is my job, and that I have to do every step over and over again to make the best books that I can possibly make. Like an athlete, I have to continually practice to be as good as I can be.

 

For the younger students, I do a combination of reading my books, and drawing demos. I am comfortable working with all ages, from Pre-K to 5, as long as they are in age appropriate groups.

 

I work with groups of all sizes, and I am just as comfortable talking to 300 students as I am talking to 30.

 

I live in north NJ, so anything within a 4 hour drive will not require travel fees.

Discount deals can be worked out for multiple visits.

I do not sell books at my visits, but will work with local booksellers to do so.
